CREDIBLE WARNING is a work of fiction that is terrifyingly real. One man receives advanced warning of a deadly crisis that will impact his entire state, perhaps the whole country. Does he have what it takes to survive what's coming and save his family? Do you? This book will make you think. What will you do when a crisis arrives with almost no warning? What will you wish you had done, while there was still time to prepare? What will the survivors know that you don't know (yet)?

It was an interesting, what if, kind of book. I read this one mostly in one sitting, so there has to be something to it! There was too much repetitiveness in the book readers don't need the information given to us 5 times, just once is good and we'll keep up with the information. I enjoyed the normal, everyday characters facing a natural disaster. It's not the end of the world, just most of the US. This story focuses on less than 24 hours leading up to, and just as, a massive solar flare hitting the earth. Our main characters get a early warning from an unlikely source of the disastrous solar flare event and then the book focuses on their decisions and actions in the few hours before the flare hits. This is actually the most interesting part of the end of the world books to me...what causes "the event" and what do the characters do, good or bad, in the first few hours/days after an event happens. The pacing was good, it just needs less repetition.

Credible Warning Book One eBook Brian Christopher Reviews

The characters are good and the story is solid, but neither develop as fast as needed to keep my interest. Story drug out too much. Needed more action.
24 hours warning before your way of life ends.
The Walking Dead without the zombies, only the strong will survive.
Gary Adams is warned about an immanent solar CME by a friend in Moscow. He rescues his wife Mae and drives 100 miles to friend Hank’s house where they work desperately to prepare for the arriving CME. Good description of frantic preparation for CME.
The premise is intriguing an 18 hour warning before a CME hits and the choices forced upon ordinary, unprepared people. This, alone, is reason to shell out a few bucks and follow the trail.

The ending is premature and the author's explanation borders on laziness or lack of effort. If his purpose is solely to make the point that America is filled with complacent sheep who will all die, ok. Write a blog or editorial. But if you're writing a novel, you are hopefully choosing to entertain and deliver a satisfying story. The most interesting part of this story is left unwritten. Take a break from your prepping, Mr. Christopher, and finish this.

From a literary view, the author indulges in editorial bashing out of place in a novel. Just tell the story and let readers draw the already obvious conclusions. Bashing not needed. Some better editing and this has potential to be a very engaged book.
A well written, realistic, detailed account of a typical family. Truly the characters are not lovable, but they are authentic and realistic. Everyone has a know-it-all in the family and everyone has a flawed drunk in the family. Surviving with them would probably go down just as Christopher has written it. Eagerly await Book Two. It's hard to get a 5 star from this reviewer, but this book deserves it because it is not only entertaining, but it is a guide to what part of our disaster awareness and preparedness should be. Well done!
I love it when I come across a book that is in this genre and more than 200 pages. However, I have to say that these 477 pages could have been cut back extremely if the author cut back on the 20 pages he uses to describe getting from the courthouse to the guys home! Or the 30 pages describing building a faraday cage for their cars..We get it!! The author knows his stuff but it's overkill. The characters are developed very well. I can't think of a worse mother than Mae. I am going to enjoy watching this prissy, spoiled, rich, sense of entitlement woman revert back to the 1800's! Love it!! These characters bring up a lot of emotions which shows the author really created their personalities well. Great job on the story but A LOT less narration of everything that is happening PLEASE???
I really liked the emphasis on prepping and the human interactions. He has certainly read up on CMEs and EMPs. But he goofed one basic detail of the physics. If a CME comes shooting out of the sun towards the earth, it will strike the earth on the side of the planet facing the sun, I.e. during daylight. Not between midnight and 3 am as portrayed in the book. It is indeed possible that the CME will strike a glancing blow to the earth, early or late in the day. That would fit the author's scenario of only the USA being hit. And it is possible the CME could be long enough that it would fry electronics around the globe as the earth rotates, and the parts facing the sun are hit. But it is impossible that the CME would loop around to hit only the dark backside of the earth after traveling in a straight line for millions of miles from the sun to the earth.
